What is RL2 ?

RL2 is a full-motion video format from 1990s PC games, used for intros and cut-scenes. Its frames are low-resolution, 256-colour images compressed with run-length encoding, usually with a soundtrack alongside. Today almost nothing plays it except software built on the FFmpeg libraries.
