Convert JNX to PSD online quickly and easily. Just upload your file, convert it, and download the PSD in seconds.
JNX is used by Garmin devices for storing files to display satellite maps available through a BirdsEye subscription. JNX is the so-called tile format which means that a large raster image of the map is divided into smaller rectangular pieces for faster display by the navigator.
PSD (Photoshop Document) is a proprietary file format developed by Adobe Systems for use with its Photoshop software. It allows for the storage of images with support for layers, masks, transparency, text, and various other features essential for professional graphic design and photo editing.
JNX is Garmin's tile format for the satellite imagery that comes with a BirdsEye subscription: one large raster map chopped into small rectangles so the handheld can draw the visible part quickly. It is written for the device, not for a computer, so a JNX sitting on your desk opens in Garmin's own software and essentially nothing else.
Converting to PSD assembles that imagery into a single Photoshop file you can actually work on — annotate a route, mark up a survey, adjust levels on faded aerial imagery, or drop the map into a larger design. Two caveats. The georeferencing does not survive: PSD is an image format with no place to record coordinates, so the result is a picture of the map, not something a GIS program can position. And the tiles are composited into one flat image rather than arriving as separate layers, since the division into rectangles is a display trick rather than a structure worth keeping.
